Awards and Appreciations
My research activities, innovation, and leadership in the Internet of Things (IoT) have received many awards and appreciations from the conferences and communities across the globe. In 2018, I was elevated to the rank of IEEE Senior Member owing to my contributions to the advancements made in the IoT.
Elevation to IEEE Senior Member
IEEE, world's largest technical organization, elevated Soumya to the grade of IEEE Senior Member, an honor bestowed in recognition of his significant contributions to the Internet of Things.
EU Datathon 2018, Belgium
I won the award in EU Datathon 2018 competition’s Challenge 1: "EU Open Data - For more innovation in Europe". The Publications Office of the European Union organised the second edition of the EU Datathon competition in Brussels highlighting the potential of linking EU and national data.
IEEE TenSymp 2018, Australia
The Conference Committee of IEEE Tensymp 2018 awarded Soumya with a Highly Commended award for a research paper titled "Developing and Integrating a Semantic Interoperability Testing Tool in F-Interop Platform" in Sydney.
IEEE ICII 2018, USA
The Conference Committee of IEEE ICII 2018 awarded Soumya with an Outstanding Service award for his leadership and service in the conference organising committee in Seattle.
IEEE WF-IoT 2018, Singapore
The Conference Committee of IEEE WF-IoT 2018 recognised Soumya’s leadership and service in the conference organising committee.
IEEE ISCE 2017, Malaysia
The Conference Committee of IEEE ISCE 2017 awarded Tanmay Chakraborty and Soumya Kanti Datta with a Best Student Paper Award for their paper on "Application of Swarm Intelligence in Internet of Things" in Kuala Lumpur.
IEEE GCCE 2015, Japan
The Technical Program Committee of IEEE GCCE 2015 awarded Dr. Thinagaran Perumal of Universiti Putra Malaysia and Soumya with a 3rd Prize Excellent Paper Award for their research paper titled "IoT Device Management Framework for Smart Home Scenarios" in Osaka.
